Blog Post #8

Over the past week in ISM I have set up classes I will visit on the field trip to UNT and also asked Mrs. Wiemann to be my mentor. Many of the classes I hoped would be available in the time we are on campus were not in session this fall or take place on Monday nights. This was discouraging because Some of these courts related to International Corporate Law very closely. I emailed four professors asking if I would be able to sit in on their Wednesday class and so far I have three responses. One professor told me that Wednesday was their midterm, so it wouldn’t work out for me to sit in. I have two confirmed classes for Wednesday now, Government and Politics around the World and Introduction to International Studies. I am excited to sit in on these classes because I feel like I already have a basic knowledge of these topics, which will only be enhanced through sitting in on the course. I am looking to find an additional class or ask to meet with another teacher so I can meet the minimum 3-hour requirement of classes.

Additionally, I asked the General Counsel of WorldLink, Mrs. Wiemann to be my mentor. She told me that she would be my mentor but she needs to check in with her boss before she can say yes for sure. Next week I hope to have a confirmed mentor and have a successful day at UNT.
