Blog Post #24

3/19/18

Over spring break I mainly focused on making progress in my final product. I made significant progress on my table and website. First, I completed a research assessment over Japanese immigration. I found out significant information regarding the sentiments of immigrants in Japan and that some people are not as receptive or accepting of immigrants due to cultural differences. Japan is also facing a significant decline in population and they may soon be looking to immigrants to supplement their workforce and decrease their dependency ratio. I also completed the design of my invitations for the final presentation night and formulated the list of the people I am going to invite.

I also added more visas to my excel document, these include E2, E3, and EW3  visas. I found out that most of these visas are nonimmigrant, meaning that you would have to apply for a green card separately once you have already entered the country. In my tables, I also included more categories in order to get a better understanding of each visa. I also set up my website domain on Wix, titled Immigration Paths, and I chose a template and began picking the themes and fonts for the overall look and format of my website. In the coming week, I will continue to make progress on my final product and order my final invitations.
