I delivered my Original Work Speech and had a mentor visit. I prepared my powerpoint slide and outline. My speech overall went better than my previous Research Speech because I made sure to check and make sure I included all aspects of the rubric were incorporated into what I presented. Since I went over the allotted time during my last speech, I made sure that I was in the correct time frame. I could have even added more to my speech as it was only 12:20.
Additionally, on Friday I had a mentor visit where I had the opportunity to sit in on training with Mrs. Wiemann’s legal team. We learned about the updates to Lexus, a legal research tool that is applicable to many areas of their work. The law is a continually growing field, which requires new training and a specific amount of Continuing Legal Education (CLE). I would have to be able to constantly adapt to the field depending on the new technology and methods that evolve with the times. It was interesting to hear about how Lexus has changed since they learned about it or were in law school. The website will most likely be completely different in five years when I will be needing it for law school.
